KOMMUNITY FK ©™ LIVE AT WAVE GOTIK TREFFEN/WGT-MAY 24TH 2010-LEIPZIG,GERMANY
Patrik and Sherry had an amazing adventure going to, while at, and coming home from the WGT/Wave Gotik Treffen 2010.
From their crazy time dealing with British Airways, to their first night in Leipzig partying in the DJ booth at the "When We Were Young Party", to their meet and greet autograph party held at the CineStar Filmpalast, to their live performance at The Parkbühne...Patrik and Sherry loved every minute of it!
This whole adventure started for Kommunity FK back in late July of 2009 just before Kommunity FK was about to hit the road to do their tour for Summer/Fall of 2009 when Kommunity FK received an email from the organizers of WGT asking if Kommuntiy FK would co-headline a night of the upcoming Wave Gotik Treffen May 2010.
Kommunity FK accepted the offer and the adventure to Germany was amazing!
Dealing with the British Airlines strike was complete bollocks. Sherry herself spent five straight days right before they were scheduled to leave dealing with all of their flights being canceled.
Even the morning of Kommunity FK's departure they found out twenty minutes before leaving for the airport, again-Two more of their departing flights had been canceled. Sherry and Patrik both spent a frantic morning on the phone. It was Patrik who got through and was able to get Kommunity FK rescheduled for a departing flight which only gave them thirty-five minutes to get from their home and onto the plane...They made it to the gate just as the flight crew was getting ready to close off all passenger loading.
Even after they had finally made it to Leipzig they were again informed that their many times over rescheduled return flights had been canceled.
Sherry spent every day while in Germany getting Kommunity FK rescheduled back to the United States...Wheeew!
Below is some back story on this Kommunity FK adventure along with some great images from their time in Leipzig...Enjoy!
Once in Germany Patrik and Sherry had a wonderful trip.
Kommunity FK were picked up by their arranged driver 'Mike' (courtesy of Florina & WGT) at the Berlin Airport and whisked off in full jet lag straight to the official WGT check in area based in the heart of Leipzig.
Their first night in Germany they were scheduled to go to the "When We Were Young" party as
they were asked
to attend by Thomas Thyssen of
Gothic Magazine
(as Kommunity FK/Patrik had just completed
an interview with Thomas for
Gothic Magazine's
68th issue).
Knowing the had a scheduled driver provided by WGT they had to keep a little track of time. Someone told them the wrong time and they left the WWWY party. Lucky the meeting place with their driver was under a large clock as they realized that they still had a good hour to party. As they headed back to WWWY Patrik was recognized by some fans. These great Kommunity FK fans (Johny Death/Ms. Sin/Danielle) took Patrik and Sherry to a killer bar and kindly bought them numerous drinks-nice! After all said and done Patrik and Sherry had a wonderful first night at WGT and didn't make it back to their hotel until around 5:00 am Leipzig time...
The next morning Patrik and Sherry still being jet lagged woke up very early Leipzig time. They packed up their gear at the Grande City Hotel. The Grande City Hotel is a wonderful hotel- They even booked KFK the largest room that had a viewing nook that was shadowed by trees as it looked a beautiful meadow and farm house (even the room number followed Sherry from her hometown as they recieved the room '206' key).
Their driver picked them up and it was off to the Penta Hotel in downtown Leipzig.
The Penta is a killer hotel. Very modern and the staff were great.
WGT provided Kommunity FK with two very upscale rooms. One of which become the official Kommunity FK party room...tee/hee!
Closing off their long day & night Patrik and Sherry topped off their night sampling some great red local wine at the beautiful Penta Hotel bar.
The next day was a very busy day for Kommunity FK as it was show day.
First off Patrik and Sherry had a quick photo shoot scheduled that was done in the lobby and the front gardens of the Penta Hotel.
Right after they were done getting their pictures taken Kommunity FK was picked up and taken to their 'autograph session' that was held at the incredible CineStar Filmpalast. The staff at the CineStar Filmpalast were so great and the fans were wonderful. Kommunity FK fans brought many items from Klassic KFK LPs, CDs, to killer pictures of Kommunity FK they had printed out just for the autograph session. Patrik would like to send his best wishes to the young ladies who were shaking so badly and crying when they were getting their pictures taken with him...
It was very kute!
The staff at 'The Parkbühne' were very gracious and full of hospitality. Immediately, they took care of Patrik and Sherry by taking them to the Kommunity FK dressing room-Providing them with their bottles of red wine & prior to their performance. The hospitality tent was very large and Kommunity FK had a great time meeting other bands/photographers/press there.

The day after Kommunity FK arrived home from their trip they started to receive many great photos via emails and links of their performance at The Parkbühne. It was not easy to choose just a few shots to post here on this webpage as Kommunity FK has received literally tons of great photographs from all of you!!

Even after Patrik and Sherry arrived home they received a message on in the comment area of the official Kommunity FK MySpace webpage.
Uncle N of the online webzine "Nemesis" had posted a live shot of Patrik performing at the WGT 2010 festival along with the information that his new issue was out and Kommunity FK was in the new issue several times throughout.
First off there was a great review of the Kommunity FK live performance from May 24, 2010 at WGT in Leipzig, Germany.
Second, there are awesome new live shots from the Kommunity FK WGT 2010 performance posted.
And last but not least Nemesis Magazine did a wonderful review of the new full length Kommunity FK album "La Santisima Muerte"
